Community Service Projects

C.E. Systems, Inc. and our employees are mindfully that that good stewardship is a civic duty. Each year C.E. Systems, Inc. supports a non-profit charitable organization that helps those in our community less fortunate than ourselves.

The memorial was designed by Wilder Architecture, Inc. Architect Larry Wilder also led the primarily volunteer effort, which included C.E. Systems and several other community business partners. "This was something a lot of us could get behind it's very inspiring," said Wilder. "There has been a tremendous sense of volunteerism, a get-it-done attitude throughout the project that feels very American and it has been a privilege to be part of this project."

The memorial sculpture recalls the World Trade Center site with an elevated concrete base, matching the orientation and scale of the site in New York City. An aluminum frame echoes the material and proportions of the towers. The memorial is one hundredth the scale of the actual towers and site. When complete, the steel WTC artifact, held above the base within the symbolic north tower, will function as a sundial. As the shadow of the artifact falls on the ground on the morning of September 11, the lower slab will mark the duration of time from the first airplane's impact on the north tower to the subsequent collapse of the tower on September 11, 2001.
